We flew in from Chiang Mai and had an early flight back home the next morning, so this was the perfect location for convenience. However this is not the place to stay if you want to do some sightseeing in Bangkok. It is $* taxi ride to downtown. There was a shuttle bus ready to pick us up at the airport. It was very easy to find. Check in was easy, friendly, and efficient. They asked us when we wanted a wake up call the next morning. The call was from a real person , not an automated call, which was a nice touch. As soon as we walked downstairs there was a shuttle ready to take us to the airport. Since this hotel is on the airport property it was no more than a five minute drive. Traffic is killer in Bankok, which is why we didn't want to take our chances with a downtown hotel. We spent our afternoon napping and relaxing by the pool. Although it was very hot in Bankok, the water in the pool was too cold. Drink and food prices are not cheap according to Thai prices, but what you would expect in the USA. That evening we went downstairs for the international buffet which was true treat. It featured traditional Thai fruits, curry, stir fry,etc., a Japanese quality sushi station, carved roast beef and leg of lamb, as well as an extensive salad, cheese, and dessert selection. There were a few surprise treats such fresh honeycomb. It may have been one of the best buffets I have had anywhere. It summary, this is not the place to stay to get a true impression of the city of Bangkok. But for conveniene and comfort it was the perfect end to vacation.

I stayed here two times while traveling in Thailand- by far one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. It was amazing. The rooms, bathrooms, beds, pool, spa, and the people were all amazing. The first time I stayed there my sister and I had a very short time at BKK and wanted to see Bangkok- the hotel staff planned our day out and got us a Taxi- everything went smoothly. I also needed to check-out late and was prepared to pay extra- but when I went to checkout they told me not to worry about it. If you are traveling to the Bangkok area and need to stay in a hotel close to the airport- I highly recommend Novotel. M

Rooms called as above are always the worst in the building. I was given corner rooms both in and out of BKK. The a/c in these rooms blasted air like a 747 taking off. When I insisted on a change, on both occasions I was given the room farthest away from the elevator. I did NOTHING to be dealt with this way. The attitude was supercilious, arrogant and condescending. The only possible reason to stay here proximity to the airport!
P.S. The pickup and delivery service was very well done.
